The American conservatives behind Trump's Project 2025 have now taken on the European Union.
The issue of dissolving the EU institutions was discussed at a retreat organized by the Heritage Foundation on March 11 in Washington.
The proposal calls for abolishing the European Commission and renaming the bloc the "European Community of Nations."
Project 2025 is a detailed plan to transform the U.S. government into a more centralized, conservative institution with a focus on Christian values, deregulation, and a hardline immigration policy. While it is not formally Trump's official plan, the personnel connections and early actions of his second term (as of 2025) show considerable alignment with the proposals. The plan remains controversial, as both supporters see it as a necessary reform and critics see it as a threat to democracy and civil liberties.
